Starting with 2019 Spring Diplomas, the IMI Knowledge Centre will be offering two Academic Support Sessions weekly. These will run from March 20th 2019 – May 23rd 2019.

Session #1 Planning Your Assignment
During this session, you will learn how to plan your assignments more effectively by breaking down the planning process into 5 easy steps.
The aim of this session is to help you to:
- Develop a plan of action (using 5 steps) for planning your assignment.
- Understand your assignment title – to answer what’s being asked.
- Feel equipped to organize information.
- Prepare paragraphs using structure.
Session #2 Writing Critically
During this session, we will explore what it means to write critically by grading and evaluating two essays to identify characteristics of good critical writing.
The aim of this session is to help you to:
- Understand the grading criteria used at IMI.
- Understand the difference between descriptive and critical writing.
- Identify characteristics of good critical writing
