We have made some small changes to when and why you receive notifications about book loans.

Due Date Reminders

You receive a due date reminder 3 days before an item is due back.

Overdue Notices

The number of days delay after which overdue notices are sent have been reduced:

  1. The first overdue notice is sent after 1 day
  2. The second overdue notice is sent after 7 days
  3. The third overdue notice is sent after 14 days

Overdues with Holds Waiting

If you have an overdue item and somebody else is waiting for it you will receive an email asking you to return it. These emails are sent once a week.

Long Overdue Library Items

If you have an overdue book for more than 60 days it will fall into the long-term overdue category and you will be contacted to return it. These emails are sent every two weeks.

Not receiving library email notices?

Sometimes email services can filter automated emails like library notifications as spam. You may need to check your spam or filter settings if you are not receiving library notifications. Whitelisting in Outlook involves adding a safe sender; in Yahoo and Gmail you may need to create a new filter. All library notifications come from knowledge@imi.ie.
